Every March, people around the world come together to support Endometriosis Action Month. Action Month is a time to raise awareness, demand change and show your support for the 1 in 10 women born with a diagnosis of endometriosis.

Action

What people with endometriosis need and deserve is tangible action and positive change to improve care and support. That's why last year a new initiative was launched, Endometriosis Action Month.

Support

We know this month has also been trying for many, but there is plenty of support <add link https://www.endometriosis-uk.org/get-support>  should you need it.

Why is this important?

The organisers say:

“Every Endometriosis Action Month, and in fact every month, we campaign for better care. For greater understanding. For better treatment and management options. For more research. We want to ensure that all those with endometriosis have access to the right support at the right time.
Action Month is the perfect opportunity to raise our voices and be heard; with governments, the media, employers and medical practitioners. That’s why all month we’ll be highlighting the real impact of living with endometriosis – shining a light on areas including mental health, finances - including the need for Governments to review the way benefits are assessed for those with endometriosis, and the need for greater support in the workplace, and soaring gynecology waiting times. Action is urgently needed to ensure those with diagnosed or suspected endometriosis get the support they need.
The month is just as important for those with endometriosis as it is for those who don’t. Society is so complicit in the ignorance and injustice that surrounds endometriosis, to the point that significant numbers have never even heard of it. This is despite it affecting 1.5 million women and those assigned female at birth in the UK. That’s why every year, we raise awareness and demand change – not just during Action Month, but all year round.”
