Nick’s role as New Business Assistant Manager entails working closely with care providers to understand their individual needs regarding insurance, helping to ensure they have the right cover in place. He connects with clients, discussing their existing arrangements, and offers guidance on whether their current programme is set up correctly.
Alongside his work with clients, Nick spends time developing new strategies, helping to upskill the wider team; part of his role involves supporting the team to develop their specialist knowledge on the care sector, strengthening the expert service Quality Care Group offers each client.
For Nick, there is no such thing as a ‘typical day’ in the New Business team. Every day offers new experiences, with some quieter days sailing by, while others involve fast turnarounds for clients who may have struggled to secure insurance elsewhere.
At times, Nick dedicates entire days working with singular clients who require a more detailed and specialised approach, working to understand precisely what their business needs and which insurance solution is best suited for them.
The inclusivity and support within the workplace are a standout aspect of the environment within Quality Care Group. Having experienced both large corporate organisations, and smaller business throughout his career path, Nick feels Quality Care Group shines through, particularly regarding the way colleagues are emboldened to be themselves while being encouraged to reach their full potential. For Nick, that balance creates a positive working environment, one where people feel valued as individuals while being handed the opportunity to grow and flourish.
No two care providers are the same, and for Nick, one of the best parts of his role is the opportunity to speak with clients, taking the time to learn about themselves and their business. Hearing each client’s individual story helps Nick develop a deeper understanding of what makes them and their business unique; each conversation allows him to look beyond simply arranging insurance and instead build genuine relationships with the people behind each organisation.
Away from Quality Care Group, Nick holds a passion for motorbikes and particularly enjoys working on their repairs. He also spends plenty of his spare time renovating his home, with DIY, gardening, and his cat (Sabai) and dog (Leia), providing ample opportunities to keep him busy.
Nature also plays a big role in Nick’s downtime; he often attends no signal retreats, spending long weekends away from technology, simply soaking up some time in nature.
Being based in Brighton means Nick is also never too far from live music, where he regularly heads out to the many gigs around the city.
