We are excited to introduce a new initiative called Blend & Extend, in partnership with our energy analyst, which aims to offer eligible customers a reduction on contracts sold during peak price rises last year. This program can be a significant lifeline for those currently under these types of contracts, struggling with energy costs.
Blend & Extend, is a unique offering designed to provide relief to customers who purchased energy contracts when wholesale energy costs were higher. Due to fixed prices agreed upon at that time, suppliers are unable to alter these costs. However, through the Blend & Extend initiative, eligible customers can benefit from immediate savings.
By extending the contract period, suppliers can blend the costs across the energy they have already purchased and the new energy they will buy. This blending effect results in a lower immediate price for the customer. To achieve this, the current fixed-price energy contract will be terminated, and a new contract will be introduced, which encompasses the balance of the remaining term along with a 12-month extension. The combined duration of the two contracts will form the new fixed term period.
At present, we are delighted to have EDF and British Gas Lite onboard to offer these new blended prices to eligible customers.
