Still much of the same in terms of movements with the wholesale gas & electricity markets currently in a settled fairly plateaued state.

Over the last three days the trend has been light decreases on the shorter curves however, due to higher wind generation and warmer temperatures coming through.

This is encouraging and should the settled position continue suppliers will start reducing risk within their rates. Some have already moved to do this – whereas others have not. As such the swings between supplier offers can be quite significant.

If you are due for renewal shortly it is important that you check all business suppliers offers to ensure you will not be signing into higher rates than you should. For a typical Care Home’s electricity & gas usage this could equate to thousands of pounds. The swing can be as much as 150% between your current providers costs/renewal offer and another supplier. Higher if you are on out of contract rates.
